Post-Birth Wellbeing Buddies Service

Despite recent surveys showing that around 1 in 4 new mothers will experience Post Natal Depression, it is still a widely misunderstood illness.

We provide a 6 session, CBT based support group, covering the following areas,

  • Introduction to CBT – coping with low mood / anxiety

  • Challenging unhelpful behaviours

  • Wellbeing

  • Problem solving

  • Challenging negative thinking

  • Building resilience for the future

Within a supportive and encouraging environment, we provide group sessions with an option to access online and 1:1 therapy if needed. Focus is on understanding the current situation and then learning tools to build personal coping strategies and resilience for the future. We also provide support for fathers if requested.

Having a baby can be one of the most amazing experiences in life – but it doesn’t always go as smoothly as we hope or expect. Maybe the birth didn’t go as you planned? Maybe you feel run down and unhappy. A combination of tiredness and changes in routine can leave you feeling sad, anxious, tearful, lonely or isolated.
